Remove PDF Metadata
A PDF stores metadata in its Info dictionary and an optional XMP packet - title, author, the software that produced it, and timestamps. This tool clears those values in place, keeping the document structure and byte offsets valid, so the visible pages are unchanged. Processed locally in your browser - nothing is uploaded.
What gets removed
PDF metadata often outs the author name and the exact tool and version used, even after the visible content is anonymized. If you distribute a PDF, clearing the Info dictionary and XMP catches identifying details you may not have realized were attached.
- Title, Author, Subject and Keywords
- Creator and Producer software
- Creation and modification dates
- The XMP metadata packet
