You select a category (Movies, TV Series, Anime, Video Games, or Books), apply genre filters, set a minimum rating, and choose a release era. The system matches these criteria and returns one random recommendation.

The "🎲 For Fun" rating filter intentionally selects poorly rated media. When you enable this mode, the randomizer ignores standard quality filters and actively searches the database for famously bad movies, games, anime, and books. Use this setting when you specifically want to experience low-rated titles.

You can select multiple genres simultaneously. The randomizer searches for titles that match any of your selected genres. Adding more genres widens the available title pool and increases the diversity of your random recommendations.

The randomizer aggregates data and ratings from five primary databases: Simkl and IMDB for movies and TV shows, AniList for anime, IGDB (by Twitch) for video games, and Open Library (by the Internet Archive) for books. This ensures accurate categorization and up-to-date rating scores.

The randomizer prevents duplicate recommendations using session memory. When the system selects a title, it blacklists that specific item for the duration of your current browser session. Clicking "Pick Again" guarantees a completely new recommendation every time.
